and
Sarah McKinley

Denis Curran (c. 1809—7 Aug 1883) and Sarah McKinley (Curran) (c. 1820—18 Mar 1888) were the first generation in our branch of the Curran family to emigrate to the United States.1 As might be expected, the surviving oral tales of their lives are sketchy and somewhat contradictory.

The first edition of this report was a compilation of those tales with most contradictions eliminated and my best guesses about the facts inserted in their places. I have now added a substantial amount of documentary information to fill out the picture and eliminate some of the guesses. However, I have not yet found any documents relating to their lives before their emigration to the United States.
