I obtained most of the following information from Margaret Strauser [DS.4.5.13] in Feb 1980.

Margaret [DS.4.5.13] was the only child of Benjamin Silva and Margaret Mary Vahey (Silva) (Curran) [DS.4.5S2]. Her father, Benjamin Silva, died three or four months before she was born. When the younger Margaret [DS.4.5.13] was about 14 years old, her mother [DS.4.5S2] married secondly Thomas Curran [DS.4.5]. Margaret Silva [DS.4.5.13] was adopted by Tom Curran and, thereafter, chose to be known as Margaret Curran [DS.4.5.13].

Margaret Curran [DS.4.5.13] married Homer A. Strauser (27 Nov 1904Oct 1986) on 22 Nov 1930 at St. Pius Church, 19th Street and Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. They had three children:

Peggy had a dance studio in Grey’s Lake, Illinois. Once each year, she presented a show in Libertyville, Illinois.

Margaret [DS.4.5.13] and Homer had ten grandchildren and at least three great grandchildren. They lived at Wooster Lake for fifteen years. Sometime during that period, Homer served as mayor of Fox Lake, IL. Then they lived in Oak Park for awhile, then in LaGrange, and then in Oak Brook for a short time. In Feb 1980, they had lived in Florida for almost eight years.

By 1952, the house at Wooster Lake had been winterized.

My sister Loretta recalls visiting our aunt Margaret Strauser circa 1930 and 1931:

"She had lived in Beverly (on the south side of Chicago). But I visited her in her house in Beverly. She lived at about 96th and Western or 98th and Western. At that time you know, Western Avenue had the name for the longest street car line in Chicago. And me at the ripe old age of about 8 years old, 9 years old, I used to take the street car from our house [in Berwyn, 1200 South, 7100 West] and go all the way down and visit her. Today, it would sound like sheer madness."

Loretta met our cousin, Peggy Strauser, only once. That was circa 1946 when Peggy was about 3 years old.
