| The godfather was probably the babys uncle [DS.4.7] (age 18) who was named James Curran at Baptism. The godmother was Teresa McGrath (age 33), an aunt of the father. It was customary for Teresa to stay with Molly while the latter was recovering from the ordeal of childbirth. | |

| James [DS.4.5.5] was the fourth surviving son of Thomas Curran [DS.4.5] and Molly Finan [DS.4.5S1]. He never married. |
| DEATH Jim [DS.4.5.5] died of the flu in San Antonio, Texas, while in the U.S. Army during World War I. My Aunt Ellen Curran Cahill [DS.4.5.9] told me that Jim died on 17 Oct 1918. For many years afterwards, Jim was mourned and memorialized by his sister, Mae Curran (Healey). My sister, Loretta FitzMaurice (Hlavin), said that the story from our mother was that Jim had died in a motorcycle accident. I have found no confirmation of that story from anyone else. |
