George Abraham Joseph Curran [DS.4.3]
(14 Apr 1865 — 29 Mar 1949)

Birth
I have not yet found any record of either the birth or the baptism of George Abraham Curran. [DS.4.3]. According to our oral history, however, George was born on the night that President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. President Lincoln was shot on the evening of 14 April 1865 and died on the morning of 15 April 1865. George [DS.4.3] was undoubtedly named after his uncle, Private George Curran [DS.1], who was killed in the Second Battle of Kernstown, Virginia. His middle name, of course, came from President Abraham Lincoln.

This photo was taken on 25 July 1897.
